StratApp Ends Project in Tarragona

Jun 11, 2019

Teaching staff in foreign languages and candidates have met at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV), in Tarragona, in a seminar on new learning strategies. The event, organized by the StratApp team, put an end to a project started two years ago with the objective to get an app designed to boost the reading academic skills of university students.

The result of this Erasmus+ project has been the mobile app StratApp - The Art of Reading, available for iOS and Android. The app promotes the learning through play concept in a very easy way: users only need to sign-in and start playing!

With the intention of bringing the audience closer to the possibilities that the use of ICT (apps, social networks, MALL, etc.) offers when learning a language, the seminar shed light on some use case examples.

Thus, in addition to presenting StratApp, other options to achieve security and spontaneity in the practice of a foreign language have been introduced. Such is the case of Instagram, a social network that has seduced many young people and that, in light of the evidence, can also be useful for learning a new language.

StratApp - The Art of Reading is by now available in English, although together with the URV Solidària (Development Cooperation Center) they are working on developing the app in Swahili
